The new and improved Staysee 90…. Beware of the Phantom!

Hi everyone!

Lucky Craft continues to improve one of the most productive jerkbaits in Lucky Craft’s lineup.

The Staysee 90 (now version 3) is a little heavier and dives a little deeper.  West Coast pro staffer Gary Dobyns always used to modify his Staysee with “suspend dots” to make the jerkbait dive a little deeper and “nose down” slightly more when paused during the retrieve.

The older version, the Staysee 90 version 2, ran between 6 and 8 feet deep, while the new version 3 reaches depths between 10 and 12 feet.   Lucky Craft has also increased the size of hooks to a #4 size treble.

According to Dobyns, the action of the Staysee 90 version 3 is also much different than other jerkbaits.  It is not an erratic action, but much more of a subtle, walking action as it moves through the water.  It works best with soft “pops”, and Dobyns likes to fish it best with varied rhythms.

One of the new colors released at ICAST 2008, Phantom Chartreuse Shad, was developed by Lucky Craft for this particular bait.

Below is a video shot at ICAST of Gary Dobyns talking about the Staysee 90

Thanks!!

This is why Lucky Craft stands out from other lure manufacturers – Lucky Craft takes the time to listen to incredible anglers such as Gary Dobyns and design lures specifically tailored to the needs of fishermen from their respective regions!

I personally fish the deep clear water reservoirs of Southern California (Castaic, Diamond Valley, Casitas, Pyramid, etc.) and with the new design (added weight near the head) and color, this lure will be sure to fill the live well!

That looks awesome! Yes, Lucky Craft definitely stands out from other lure manufacturers, because Lucky Craft makes the best hard baits that you can buy period. I don’t think anybody has or can match Lucky Craft’s attention to detail when it comes to their lure color schemes or innovations.
