Blog, New Product Info

The Slim Shad D-9 was introduced at the 2007 ICAST show.  Lucky Craft has now brought out a smaller sibling to  complement the D-9.  The Slim Shad D-7 has a little smaller profile than the D-9 and doesn’t dive quite as deep.

One key feature of the Slim Shad is its castability. The bait’s center of gravity (weighted by tungsten) facilitates sharp angle turns and long casting distances. Skeet switched between the D-9 and a swimbait to catch 117 pounds at Clear Lake in 2007.  Below are some quotes from that tournament in 2007.

“I had the prototype with me in Clear Lake after working a writer’s conference at Lake Amistad a few weeks ago. I threw it there and caught several fish in a matter of minutes, so I knew it was a good bait.

“On Clear Lake, I pulled up to a spot in practice and decided to see how it would work,” Reese continued. “My very first cast, I caught a six-pounder, and it continued to work for me all week. It’s hard to really explain the action, but it pulls really hard and dives deep instantly. You can fish it as a crankbait or a jerkbait. I’m definitely very impressed with it.”

The Slim Shad D-7 and D-9 are available in 14 colors.  Click here to see the full Slim Shad Color Chart.  Some of the colors are exclusive to Cabela’s.
