Weekend Wipers

Roy Gray, our west coast Lucky Craft sales rep, just sent me a nice photo of angler Matt Taylor.

Matt Taylor of Aliso Viejo, CA was working the north end of Lake Elsinore, fishing the flooded peninsula that was once part of the Elsinore State Park when he hooked this husky hybrid. Water depth ranged from 4 to 12 feet.

This 7-pounder was one of several “wipers” in the 4- to 7-pound range that Taylor took on the bait, as well as a couple of largemouths to 3 pounds from the same general area.
He was accompanied by WON BASS Editor George Kramer, a Lake Elsinore resident.

It looks like Taylor modified the bait slightly.  Switched out the front treble for a red one and added a little extra red under the bill on the baits throat.  Nice fish Matt!!
