2009 Classic, Blog

Hi everyone,

I am getting ready to leave Lake Fork, Texas today.  We did a photo shoot with Skeet and Kelly Jordon on the water yesterday.  We got some really good stuff.

I will post some photo galleries later in the week and early next week, but for now, below are the specifics, including a photo, of the actual bait Skeet used.

Lucky Craft Redemption Spinnerbait
Size:    3/8 oz
Color:    MS American Shad and Laser Clear Ghost  (Most fish came on the MS American Shad)
Skirt:    A custom white/translucent skirt (very similar to the skirt on Laser Clear Ghost)
Front Blade:    #1 Nickel Colorado Blade  (not sure of the exact size)
Rear Blade:    #4 Nickel Willow

Equipment used while fishing the Lucky Craft spinnerbait

Rod:    Lamiglas XC704J  – 7″medium action
Reel:    Abu Garcia Revo Winch – Gear Ratio 5 to 1
Line:    50lb Spiderwire Ultra Cast (braid)

Technique

Retrieve:  Skeet was slow rolling this bait the entire time
Depth:    He was fishing his spinnerbait anywhere from 1-1/2-feet to 4-feet deep
Key:  The combination of lily pad stems near or around stumps
