Lucky Craft Regional Pro, Hal Abshire, founded “Warriors on the Water” (WOW) four years ago to show his appreciation to our military men and women across the country. This year’s “WOW” tournament, held April 17, was a huge success as 151 teams (made up of bass anglers and active duty troops from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps) competed on Jordan Lake in N.C., for bragging rights, a trophy and some great prizes.
Pre-tournament ceremonies began early Friday morning as the Army’s Black Daggers parachute team demonstrated their talents and abilities for a large crowd of fishermen.
“This is the best we’ve ever done,” Abshire told the Raleigh News and Observer. Loads of volunteers came out to participate to make the event a successful one.
When all had weighed in, James “Buster” Seabolt and his co-angler, a young marine named Brian Harrison, won with 17.82 pounds.

A special thanks, from The Daily Crank, to all involved with the Warriors on the Water Tournament. We appreciate what you did to honor the men and women who serve this country so faithfully. We look forward to seeing how the tournament grows next year. Keep it up!
