Twice a week from now until the big show (ICAST), we’ll be giving our readers a ‘sneak peek’ into some of the new 2009 Lucky Craft products. These products, showcased every Tuesday and Thursday, will not be found anywhere until after the ICAST show in July, so The Daily Crank readers will be some of the first to know any information about them. We’re pretty excited about the 2009 new products, so let’s get started …
Tuesday’s ICAST Sneak Peek – Pointer 65XD and Pointer 78XD
Pointer 78 XD (top) and Pointer 65 XD (bottom) - MS American Shad
The “XD” in the bait’s name indicates these pointers are extra-deep diving jerkbaits. With the same look and design as the ever-popular Lucky Craft Pointer, these new baits dive to deeper depths than ever before. The Pointer 65XD and the Pointer 78XD reach depths of at least 7 feet or more. The Pointer 65XD weighs 3/16 ounce and measures 2-1/2 inches in length. The Pointer 78XD weighs 3/8 ounce and is 3 inches long. The 65 will retail for $13.99 ($14.99 for MS American Shad color) and the 78 will retail for $14.99 ($15.99 for MS American Shad).
The Pointer XDs will be available in the fall of 2009 and will initially be released in 8 colors – Aurora Black, Original Tennessee Shad, Sexy Chartreuse Shad, Ghost Minnow, Chartreuse Shad, Table Rock Shad, MS American Shad and Aurora Green Perch.

Lets see the 78DD already can reach 6ft so lets hope these new XD Pointers can reach 9-10ft. Instead of going deeper I would like LC make a floating Pointer, maybe take a slender body and make it float.
Can’t wait for rest of their new stuff.
