Skeet’s Parade!

Skeet had a big day yesterday (March 14, 2010).  First there is the cover of Parade magazine which is distributed to over 30 million homes.  Then when fishing in the Duel in the Delta Bassmaster Elite Series event, he just misses taking home the title by one ounce.

John Crews caught a 5lb bass on his last cast of the day to edge out Skeet and earn his first BASS Elite series victory.

But Skeet won the media battle of the day.  Parade magazine is great exposure for Skeet and the sport of bass fishing.  Below is an excerpt from the article written by Harlen Coben.

“You’ve never been on a bass boat before, have you?” Skeet asks, a half-smile on his face. I’m barely able to shake my head “no,” when he peels out, going 70-plus mph—no windshield, no protection, body-slamming me into my seat. We travel so fast, I can’t open my eyes. My face feels as if the wind shear will strip off my skin. Up until that moment, I had thought that a fishing tournament—even a major event such as this one—would involve tossing in a hook, watching a cork bob, and cracking open a Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Man, was I wrong.
